Hattiesburg bank earnings rise to $1.9 million

Hattiesburg-based First Bancshares Inc. announced on Thursday that its net earnings for the first quarter were $1.9 million, or 36 cents per share, compared with $1.3 million, or 25 cents for the corresponding quarter in 2014. New student health center opens at Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG — A state-of-the-art health center offering easy access for students has opened at the University of Southern Mississippi. The Hattiesburg American reports the Moffitt Health Center opened its doors Monday, and it soon had students asking for services. The center is located on the first floor of Scott Hall, which is part of the Century Park South residential complex.
